Canberra's beach volleyball season starts mid-October
Lyneham Beach Facility is launching its Season 2 Beach League on October 12, open to all ages and skill levels.
Canberra's Lyneham Beach Facility is just 12 minutes from the CBD. The facility opens its sand courts for the 2026 Beach League season starting October 12.
The facility has eight sand courts and four grass courts. Matches run under an hour, averaging 45 minutes.
Play slots start at 5:30 pm and finish at 9:30 pm. The league welcomes players aged 15 and over, including people in their 50s.
There are four categories: Monday men's pairs, Tuesday women's pairs, Wednesday mixed pairs and Thursday mixed fours. Registrations close October 4.
Serious players can also enter the six-event Beach Series, which feeds into national rankings and the Australian beach tour. Canberra players recently qualified six pairs for an Oceania event.
