Maton guitar collector brings 270-strong collection to Canberra show
Wadih Hanna brings 270 Maton guitars to Canberra's National Guitar Show on 3 October.
Wadih Hanna has spent 30 years collecting Maton guitars. Maton is an iconic Australian brand founded in Melbourne in 1946.
Hanna's personal collection includes every model from the start up to the early 2000s. Hanna documented 200 of them in a self-published coffee-table book.
The book got the attention of Sydney's Powerhouse Museum. In 2020, they gave his collection a big show.
On Saturday 3 October, Hanna will bring vintage Matons and ukuleles to the National Guitar Show. The show is at Canberra's Harmonie German Club.
He'll also bring other guitars, like a 1954 Strat and a Gibson Corvette. He will run a workshop with Andy Allen.
Allen is Maton's just-retired master luthier. The event runs from 10am to 6pm.
All-day tickets are $20 in advance.
