Australian Countryman Untamed misses upgrades other markets get
Mini's Australian Countryman Untamed may miss key upgrades confirmed elsewhere.
Mini confirmed the Countryman Untamed Edition is coming to Australia in early 2027 with petrol and electric options. Some rugged upgrades confirmed elsewhere may not come to Australian models.
The car may skip the 15mm suspension lift, Pirelli all-terrain tyres, and Autohome roof tent sold in North America and Europe. Towing capacity stays at 1500kg for petrol models and 1200kg for electric.
US petrol variants can tow 2000kg. The Untamed keeps the rugged styling, new grille, underbody protection and 19-inch wheels.
But Australians could lose the mechanical edge that makes the edition truly adventure-ready.

Why it mattersAustralian buyers pay the same for the Untamed badge but get a less capable vehicle. The missing upgrades directly reduce off-road performance and towing ability.
