Mosman Park Primary gets $1m road safety makeover
Main Roads WA funds $1 million in safety upgrades at Mosman Park Primary following near-misses.
The Town of Mosman Park voted Tuesday to accept the grant and use it for traffic calming across Victoria, Monument and Manning streets near the school. Raised safety platforms, pedestrian crossings and mini roundabouts are planned, along with gateway treatments like speed limit signs and lane narrowing.
Heavy traffic on Victoria Street was stopping families from walking or cycling to school. The 2025 safety report documented the near-misses and backed community calls for change.
Works are expected to start early 2027 and finish by June 30 to meet funding conditions. The town is also spending $200,000 from its transport reserve on lighting and stormwater work.
