Grant Hutchinson demands reinstatement after Liberal party dumps him
Liberal candidate Grant Hutchinson issued a legal letter demanding reinstatement as Croydon candidate by Friday.
Victorian Liberal candidate Grant Hutchinson sent lawyers to demand the party reinstate him as the Croydon candidate. Hutchinson claims his removal breached the party constitution.
The party removed him last week. The party said new information emerged about legal disputes with his former law firm.
Hutchinson denies failing to disclose the case. He says he raised it during his vetting and preselection.
Toby Wooldridge has replaced him as the candidate. The legal letter says the party gave Hutchinson no chance to respond.
It demands they provide evidence of any new information about his civil case. The dispute comes just four weeks before early voting opens in the November 28 state election.
This adds to years of internal problems the Liberals hoped had ended.
