NZ's right-wing parties can govern alone without Opportunity Party
National, ACT and NZ First combined hold enough votes for outright majority without coalition partners.
The latest 1News Verian poll, conducted October 15-19 from 1,003 respondents, has the right-wing bloc with votes combined (National 32%, ACT 11%, NZ First 8%) versus the left (Labour 27%, Greens 16%, Te Pāti Māori 0.7%).
The 7.3-point lead is up 2.7 points since the previous poll. The right's margin is large enough for governing alone without the Opportunity Party (at 7%) as a coalition partner.
Even if Opportunity joins the left, the right still leads or ties. The election is two-and-a-half weeks away.
Other recent polls from Curia, Anacta and Freshwater also show the right leading.
