Fremantle's 2021 draft class leads Dockers to Grand Final
Four players from Fremantle's 2021 draft form the core of the Dockers' first Grand Final team since 2013.
Fremantle's path to Saturday's Grand Final rests heavily on a single draft class from 2021. Key forward Jye Amiss, midfielders Neil Erasmus and Matthew Johnson, plus defender Karl Worner will all play critical roles.
Amiss has kicked 41 goals in his second AFL season and will play his 97th game on Saturday. Johnson has played 80 games since breaking into the team in 2023, while Erasmus and Worner battled longer for opportunities.
The four spent time playing together at Mandurah when working toward AFL selection. "It's pretty cool that we're all going to be out there together," Erasmus said on Friday.
Their deep partnership and resilience through September has been vital to the Dockers' run to the MCG.
