Golf club demands council release secret planning report

Wodonga Golf Club members demand the council release a confidential planning report about splitting their course in half for 133 homes.

Foreign owners of Wodonga Golf Club have proposed halving the course to build 133 homes. The council was asked to endorse a confidential technical report on the plan and send it to the Department of Transport and Planning.

The report covers flooding, stormwater, and environmental matters. The report stays secret because it contains commercial information.

Club founder Sarah Rogers of the Wodonga Golf Club Action Group says the community deserves to see what's being considered, especially since the owners have already released their plans publicly. The council meets Monday, October 26, to vote on the report.

The action group has fundraised for a town planner and Rogers says they need time to respond properly.
