Koori Knockout rugby league reaches biggest year in Raymond Terrace
The Koori Knockout tournament in Raymond Terrace will draw about 180 teams across four days. Organisers expect 40,000 to 50,000 visitors.
The annual Indigenous rugby league carnival runs from October 2 to 5. It's at King Park Sporting Complex on Worimi Country.
Newcastle Yowies are hosting after winning the men's title last year in Tamworth. Organisers expanded junior and women's divisions.
They added under-10 exhibition games to meet surging interest. Around 10,000 to 15,000 people are expected each day.
The tournament brings together men's, women's and junior teams from across NSW. They compete and celebrate culture.
A new health and wellbeing precinct will open. It gives community members space to connect and talk about their wellbeing.
