Truck and van engulfed in flames after crash on WA highway near Perth
A refrigerated van and truck towing a container trailer caught fire after colliding on a WA highway near Perth.
The crash happened about 6:45am at the intersection of Great Eastern Highway and Quellington Road in Meckering, about 130 kilometres from Perth. Both vehicles were engulfed in flames when emergency crews arrived around 7am.
Nine firefighting crews and four ambulance teams are on scene, with the emergency helicopter dispatched. Firefighters were still working to extinguish the fire as of the latest update.
Ambulance crews have not yet been able to reach the patients, and the number of people involved remains unknown. Great Eastern Highway is closed near Quellington Road, with drivers told to use an alternate route.
