West Coast makes strong pitch for Melbourne's Jack Viney
Melbourne told veteran Jack Viney to explore options; West Coast Eagles made impressive pitch.
Jack Viney, a veteran Demon, has been granted permission by Melbourne to explore trade offers with two years left on his contract. Viney met with West Coast and Essendon last week.
West Coast impressed him in talks, according to AFL reporter Cal Twomey. The Eagles have coaching links to Viney: coach Andrew McQualter and midfield coach Sam Radford both worked at Melbourne before joining West Coast.
Twomey said West Coast is "absolutely in the mix" for Viney's decision.
