Andrew awarded £302,000 after forced from Royal Lodge

The Crown Estate awarded Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor £302,000 after he surrendered his lease on Royal Lodge.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been awarded £302,000 compensation from the Crown Estate after being forced to leave Royal Lodge, the 30-room stately home on Windsor Estate near Windsor Castle. King Charles asked his brother to vacate the property last year following public outcry over his relationship with convicted sex-offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The Crown Estate said Andrew was entitled to compensation because he left within less than 25 years of a 75-year lease signed in 2003. The lease required Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor to spend £7.5 million renovating the property and pay £1 million upfront.

After the payout, Andrew still gave the Crown Estate £1.5 million. He has since relocated to a home on the Sandringham Estate.
