Albury and Wodonga finally pick their hospital sites
Both councils have selected preferred locations for a new greenfield hospital, ending years of uncertainty.
Albury and Wodonga councils met today to confirm picks for a new regional hospital on undeveloped land. The Alliance of Councils for Albury Wodonga Region Health Services spent $37,500 on advice to guide the decision.
Wodonga's location remains confidential, though it is widely believed to be vacant land near Bandiana Link Road. Albury's location is thought to be the Young Street site.
Wodonga mayor Michael Gobel said the two sites were chosen to show the councils have suitable options. The move keeps pressure on NSW and Victorian governments to commit to the project.
Both states need to align before any building can start.
