Connolly triggers Cricket Australia contract upgrade after first century
Cooper Connolly, 23, earns contract upgrade to minimum $360,645 after scoring his first international century and playing heavily in white-ball cricket.
West Australian all-rounder Cooper Connolly has triggered a CA contract upgrade, moving from being outside the centrally contracted list six months ago. Connolly earned the 12 points needed across a financial year by playing senior international cricket, with five points for a Test match and two each for one-day and T20 appearances.
Connolly's international century and white-ball performances sealed the upgrade. Matthew Renshaw, a Queenslander, also triggers the upgrade and will earn the same minimum of $360,645, compared to a top state contract worth $209,256.
Connolly is in line to play his second Test against South Africa on Friday, with fellow all-rounder Josh Inglis ruled out by finger injury.
