Democrats win early Senate races as they chase back control from Republicans
Democrats are winning Senate races and need four more seats to take back control for just two years.
Voters are going to the polls in US midterm elections amid falling approval for President Trump. Jon Ossoff won re-election in Georgia; Democrat Chris Pappas won New Hampshire's open seat.
Democrats have also held seats in Virginia, Delaware, New Jersey, Illinois, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. If Democrats win four more races, they can block Trump's bills, issue subpoenas, and reject his judges and nominees.
Trump's approval has fallen sharply over his handling of the economy, the cost of living, his attack on Iran, and his immigration policies.
