The Reject Shop is reopening at Wollongong Central in late October, more than a decade after leaving the central business district. The discount variety store will sit on the lower ground floor near TK Maxx.
The store will sell cleaning materials, everyday items, and some groceries at cheaper prices. The Reject Shop's return may offer relief for budget-conscious shoppers as cost-of-living pressures squeeze household spending.
Nike, Typo, and What's Cooking recently closed stores in the shopping precinct. Canadian retailer Dollarama bought the Reject Shop in July 2025.
All Australian stores will rebrand by 2027.
