Ex-public servant denied bail over drug trafficking charges
Joshua James Bonazza, 44, was denied bail facing charges of supplying steroids and trafficking cocaine while serving earlier drug sentences.
Bonazza, a former public servant turned personal trainer, was arrested in Canberra after police searched his O'Connor home. Officers found steroids, scales, clip-seal bags holding white powder, and body armour.
Joshua James Bonazza faces charges of supplying anabolic steroids, trafficking cocaine, and breaking his 2024 sentence for drug dealing and money laundering. An ACT magistrate found he was likely to endanger people in the community and refused bail.
The magistrate said Bonazza had ignored court orders repeatedly. His first breach came a week after his original sentence started.
He tested positive for cocaine and got three formal warnings. He is no longer employed and receives Centrelink payments.
Bonazza is due back in court next month and has not yet entered pleas.
