AusAlert test reaches some phones and misses others

The first nationwide AusAlert test showed the system can be heard clearly by some users and missed entirely by others.

The first nationwide test of AusAlert was supposed to send a loud alert at about 2pm AEST to almost every phone in the country, along with some smartwatches and tablets. Some users received a brief alert, while others reported getting no alert or a notification without sound.
