Five-time best and fairest Nick Waterson unretires to rejoin Maiden Gully
Nick Waterson, a five-time best and fairest winner, has pulled out of retirement to play for Maiden Gully Eagles.
Nick Waterson was ready to retire after winning a premiership with North Bendigo in September. Maiden Gully YCW persuaded him to play one more season.
The midfielder spent five seasons with North Bendigo after leaving the Eagles in 2019, and now returns as a decorated player with five senior best and fairest awards at Maiden Gully. Coach Shawn Filo said the club has been trying for two years to bring Waterson back.
The Eagles are rebuilding with a young group and Waterson's experience will help. He becomes the ninth departure from North Bendigo's 2026 premiership team.
