Live Nation builds arena in São Paulo, buys stakes in promoters across Latin America
Live Nation is building a 21,000-seat arena in São Paulo. The company is also investing in promoters and venues across Latin America.
Live Nation announced a new arena partnership in São Paulo that will open by 2028. The venue will have 21,000 seats and be Brazil's first purpose-built arena.
The venue will also be South America's largest indoor live entertainment venue. Live Nation followed a strategy over nearly a decade to own stakes in promoters rather than just work with them.
Recent deals include 75% of Mexican promoter OCESA. The company owns most of Colombian company Páramo Presenta and has stakes in the Dominican Republic and Chile.
The company also owns Argentine promoters. The company is upgrading venues across the region, including Coliseo GNP Seguros in Guadalajara.
That venue has 30,000 seats after renovation. This strategy lets Live Nation control more of its operations and costs.
Independent local promoters increasingly compete and partner with the giant company.
