TQM Group plans $70m Wollongong tower with affordable homes
A $70 million, 160-unit apartment tower for central Wollongong will include 30 affordable homes.
Developer TQM Group has unveiled plans for a 26-storey tower at 21 Auburn Street in Wollongong CBD. The $70 million project includes 160 apartments, with 30 as affordable housing.
The affordable housing allows the tower to reach 78 metres. Without it, the standard limit is 60 metres.
The building has four basement car park levels. It also has a three-storey podium and a ground-floor restaurant.
A public plaza on the southern side will provide an open social space. The development application is on public exhibition until November 13.
Traffic studies show the extra vehicle movements are acceptable for nearby intersections.
