Man shot in leg near Geraldton, police hunt gunman
A 32-year-old man was shot in the leg near Geraldton early Wednesday. He is recovering from injuries that are not life-threatening.
A man was shot in the leg in Moonyoonooka, roughly 12 kilometres outside Geraldton, and was taken to Geraldton Regional Hospital about 1am Wednesday. The shooter was someone known to him.
The man's injuries are not life-threatening. Attorney General Tony Buti said the man was hit by pellets, not a bullet.
Police believe three offenders are involved. They have sent significant resources to the area.
This includes tactical response teams. Public safety warnings were issued early Wednesday.
Police say there is no wider threat to the community. This is the second shooting in the Mid West this year where the shooter escaped.
A January incident in Mullewa remains unsolved.
