Chloe Neate bounces back from injury to earn national basketball camp spot
Young Launceston point guard earned late call-up to national development camp after dominating the under-16 championships with 5.4 assists per game.
Chloe Neate recovered from stress fractures to star at the national championships, leading all players in average assists and scoring 52 points in the state final last Sunday. Initially overlooked for the two-day under-15 development camp in Canberra this week, an email early this week confirmed her as a late call-up.
Neate also averaged 11 points per game across nationals. Neate's sister Matilda captained Tasmania's under-18s, and the family has backed performance pathways in the state.
Playing as a development player for the Northern Force has shown Neate what elite work looks like. She said her biggest discovery is how hard professionals work despite having other jobs.
