Ka Ying Rising defends Everest title as rugby kicks off same time
Ka Ying Rising is the $1.35 favourite for the Everest at Randwick Saturday, as the All Blacks play the Wallabies 24km away.
Ka Ying Rising will defend his title in the 1200-metre race at Randwick, which runs at 6:15 pm NZ time, just after the All Blacks-Wallabies test starts at Accor Stadium. Two other New Zealand-owned horses, Jimmysstar and Joliestar, are third and fourth in the betting.
Sydney's weather forecast shows rain, which could affect track conditions, though trainer David Hayes says the champion can handle wet ground. The barrier draw will be revealed Tuesday at 10 pm NZ time.
