Allume Energy wins Design Award for apartment solar sharing
Allume Energy won the 2026 Design Award for a system that lets apartment residents split rooftop solar power.
Allume Energy's Solshare system won the top award at the 2026 Australian Good Design Awards. The system divides solar power from a single rooftop array between apartments based on each unit's energy needs.
Solshare is already connected to more than 10,000 apartments across Australia. Residents report energy bill savings of around 30 to 40 per cent.
Brandon Gien, chair of Good Design Australia, said the company solved a problem no one had managed to solve before. 'They've done it through good, clever, intuitive design,' he said.
