Man blows three times legal limit after 'a couple of glasses'
East Albury man registered 0.151 blood-alcohol content, three times the legal limit.
A 28-year-old East Albury driver was caught running an amber light on October 2 and tested at 0.151, triple the legal limit. Sagar told police he'd only drunk a couple of small glasses of wine between 4pm and 5pm.
Police saw him drive through the intersection on Mate Street and pulled him over. Defence lawyer Dane Keenes noted Sagar had only one blemish on his driving record: a speeding fine in 2025.
The judge acknowledged his good history but said high-range drink-driving is really dangerous. The court disqualified his licence for six months and fined him $500.
