Leogate Estate founders seek eight-figure sale to break Pokolbin record
A luxury home on the 113-acre Leogate Estate is listed at an eight-figure price. It aims to break Pokolbin's record.
Bill and Vicki Widin built the house in 2016 on a hill overlooking their Leogate winery. The winery is about 400 metres away from the cellar door.
The main residence has six bedrooms and an indoor heated pool. The pool is visible from the dining room.
The home also has a billiard room, home theatre, and a kitchen with two large island benches made from timber and marble. A separate four-bedroom guesthouse provides extra space.
The Widins got design ideas from their Gold Coast home builds. The house has classical columns, a portico, fancy trim, chandeliers and french doors that frame vineyard views.
If the price is reached, it will beat Olio Mio Estate's 2021 sale at $7.9 million. The Widins bought the 326-acre Leogate site in 2008.
They developed the historic Brokenback Vineyard into a major tourism destination with a restaurant and 20 villas.
