Over 80 graffiti artists gather this weekend at Woden drains, a 520-metre legal wall in Canberra.
This weekend, the second Killing of Canberra art event brings over 80 graffiti artists to Woden drains. The 520-metre wall is the southern hemisphere's longest legal graffiti space.
Canberra has 31 legal graffiti walls in total, believed to be the most in the country. Artist Ski credits graffiti with changing his life and now works in suicide prevention and addiction support, engaging young people through dance and the arts.
Celebrated muralist Geoff Filmer learned his craft on legal graffiti walls. His work can be found along the Australian Silo Art trail and on Floriade's iconic Stage 88.
The ACT government says legal walls and organised events have reduced vandalism across Canberra. The city received 3,864 graffiti complaints in the 2025-26 financial year.
