McGregor and Sakraya cast as Fourth Wing leads
Esther McGregor and Emilio Sakraya cast as Violet and Xaden in Prime Video's Fourth Wing adaptation.
McGregor plays Violet Sorrengail, a young woman forced by her mother into brutal dragon rider training. Sakraya plays Xaden Riorson, a mysterious cadet with shadow-wielding powers.
In the source novels, the two characters are enemies who fall in love. The adaptation comes from showrunner Meredith Averill and director Lisa Joy.
The books follow Violet as she enters a war college where trainee dragon riders face deadly challenges. If successful, the series will adapt many novels in future seasons.
