KIIS Melbourne breakfast overhaul replaces failed Sandilands era

KIIS FM Melbourne launches the Ash, Issie & Elliot show on Monday, pivoting away from Kyle Sandilands's 21-month Melbourne tenure.

KIIS Melbourne is moving on from Sandilands's chaotic breakfast show with a new trio: radio identity Ash London, former AFL player Isaac Smith and fashion stylist Elliot Garnaut. The show launches Monday after 21 months of revolving fill-in hosts.

Sandilands and co-host Jackie Henderson's flagship Sydney show dominated for 21 years before imploding in February when Henderson walked off, saying she could no longer work with him. Melbourne's version lasted just 21 months and tanked in the ratings.

KIIS held a 5 per cent audience share in the latest survey. ARN, the network's owner, settled Sandilands's wrongful termination case for $12.09 million.

Henderson's Federal Court action, seeking at least $82 million, remains ongoing.
