McLeod's Daughters revival will film in Victoria, not South Australia
The revived McLeod's Daughters will film in Victoria instead of South Australia, where the original 8-season series was made.
Stan and VicScreen announced Thursday that the beloved rural drama is returning to screens after more than 25 years. Filming will take place in regional Victoria, ending the long connection to South Australia.
The original McLeod's Daughters ran eight seasons from 2001, with 224 episodes screened in more than 100 countries. The fictional Drovers Run was filmed near Gawler and became a major South Australian tourist drawcard.
The new production is projected to spend up to $35 million and create as many as 900 jobs in Victoria. Producers say the core themes of family, resilience and rural life remain unchanged.
The shift to Victoria doesn't change that.
