Liberal campaign bus reverses into shop on election trail day one
The Victorian Liberal campaign bus reversed into a jewellery store awning in Bentleigh during its first official outing.
The Jess Express, a large blue bus carrying Liberal leader Jess Wilson, hit a shopfront awning on Friday. The driver was reversing into a parking spot in Bentleigh.
The store was closed and no one was hurt. Wilson joked the owners would know who did it, since her face is on the bus.
The bus suffered only minor scratches. Hours earlier, passengers had read funny safety cards.
They offered a "guide to surviving 12 years of Labor" with jokes about potholes and money emergencies. Campaign buses often cause problems on election trails.
Peter Dutton's bus got stuck on a Sydney street in 2025. Chris Minns's bus broke down after hitting a speed bump in NSW in 2023.
