New iCaur electric SUV gets just 368km range from big battery
The iCaur V25 electric SUV arriving in Australia in early 2027 offers 368km range from an 80kWh battery.
Chinese carmaker iCaur's V25 electric SUV will arrive in Australia towards the end of the first quarter of 2027 with an 80kWh lithium iron phosphate battery. The car claims 368km on the WLTP driving cycle, but that trails several competitors.
The Kia EV5 achieves 555km from an 88.1kWh battery, while the BYD Sealion 7 Premium claims 482km from 82.56kWh. iCaur product manager Derek Tian said the V25's boxy design affects its aerodynamics and contributes to the gap.
On Australian roads, the company tested the car and found about 300km of real-world range in mixed driving. Buyers valuing the SUV's distinctive square shape will accept the range trade-off.
