Sentenced to time served after ignoring 280 hours of community work
Troy Scott served 50 days in custody instead of completing 280 hours of community work he ignored entirely.
Troy Scott, 29, appeared in Warrnambool Magistrates Court charged with 21 offences, mostly breaching two community corrections orders. The orders required him to complete 180 hours and 100 hours of community work.
He did none of it. Scott had turned his life around: clean from ice for 18 months, now employed, housed, and reconnected with family.
Magistrate Mark Stratmann said Scott "has done nothing to repay the community" for his earlier theft and violence offences. He was fined $900 and sentenced to 50 days imprisonment, the time he had already spent in custody.
