The Man Walk grows to 106 locations as blokes seek connection and mental health
The Man Walk expanded from one walk to 106 free groups across Australia and is hosting a regional camp.
The Man Walk began with one walk in Kiama and has grown to 106 locations across Australia. The Man Walk operates 42 in NSW, mostly in regional and rural areas, and three in the ACT.
Founder Mark Burns built the movement on a simple framework: Walk, Talk, Support. Mark Burns says men don't need a problem to join, and they don't need deep conversations.
Sometimes just getting out of the house and spending time with others matters. The Man Walk is hosting its first Man Walker Camp at Crookwell in NSW on November 14.
The day includes a 5 km community walk, a bacon and egg breakfast, and afternoon activities. The $50 camp fee goes directly to funding free walks in regional areas.
The Man Walk also provides free mental health education both face-to-face and online.
