Jack Gapes twice found slumped at wheel after using GHB
Police allege the car held 7.931 grams of meth and 9.723 grams of cocaine.
Jack Gapes, 30, of Winslow, was twice found slumped over a steering wheel after using GHB. A further search of his car allegedly found meth, cocaine and a GHB-like drug.
Police were called on August 4 about a man suspected to be passed out in a car. Mr Gapes is not fighting charges linked to April 10, when he was found passed out.
A lawyer for Mr Gapes says the real issue is whether he trafficked drugs or possessed them. The magistrate said drug trafficking, especially of meth, is causing massive damage.
The case was put off until Monday, October 19, for an assessment report. Mr Gapes is being assessed for a corrections order that would provide help after his release from jail.
Until that hearing, Mr Gapes had spent 66 days in custody.
