Tottenham reaches 12th on EPL table after beating Chelsea 2-0
Tottenham climbed to 12th in the Premier League, their highest position since January, with an impressive 2-0 win at Chelsea.
Tottenham's 2-0 victory at Stamford Bridge on Saturday was a complete performance. Tottenham controlled the match with as much as 68% possession, their highest in over a year.
Chelsea's own goalkeeper Mike Penders punched the opener into his own net, and Cole Palmer was sent off for two yellow cards. Tottenham earned the win.
They had looked transformed from the side that struggled to score until mid-September. Manager Roberto de Zerbi credited a team meeting earlier this month for sparking the revival.
Key players James Maddison and Mathys Tel starred, though Maddison suffered another injury late on. The win is only their second consecutive league victory in 42 attempts, a sign of how little success they've had before De Zerbi arrived in March 2026.

- Back-to-back wins in attempts
Why it mattersTottenham spent over £300 million on summer signings to turn around two years of decline. These back-to-back wins suggest that investment is finally starting to work.
