Canberra chef runs a one-man kitchen as a Young Chef of the Year finalist
Reece Inkpen is the head chef, sous chef, kitchen hand and dishwasher at Paranormal Wines.
Reece Inkpen is one of five under-30 chefs shortlisted for Young Chef of the Year in NSW and ACT. Reece Inkpen is head chef at Paranormal Wines in Campbell, which sells natural wines and serves seasonal bites.
Reece Inkpen works alone in the kitchen and also does the sous chef, kitchen hand and dishwashing jobs. The Paranormal Wines kitchen has two induction cooktops, an industrial toaster and an oven.
He says working alone has taught him to plan ahead, with a menu that is prep-heavy but easy to serve. He hopes the opportunity will help him meet industry leaders and mentors.
The Good Food Guide awards will be held in Sydney later in October.
