Hans Zimmer's Perth concert plays movie hits, then briefly loses mics
A reviewer gave the Perth show 4.5 stars, and the tour heads to Sydney later this month.
The German composer behind Gladiator and The Dark Knight played Perth on Monday night. The almost full RAC Arena crowd heard hit after hit from films like Inception and Sherlock Holmes.
Early on, the microphones cut out during the Dune song, just as singer Loire Cotler was performing. A few minutes later the microphones worked again, and Zimmer jokingly blamed the audience.
A 19-piece band backed him, including Australian singer Lisa Gerrard, the voice behind the original Gladiator soundtrack. During his Interstellar suite, a trapeze artist covered in what appeared to be mirrors rose above the crowd.
The tour's Australian leg started in Perth and will visit Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney later this month.
