NTFA expands to 10 teams in 2028 to fix game-day logistics
Bridgenorth, Old Launcestonians, St Patricks and Old Scotch join the NTFA Premier League in 2028.
NTFA is expanding from eight to ten teams in 2028. The expansion will solve a problem for clubs: teams playing at different grounds on the same day.
South Launceston president Steve Hibbs said having all four of his club's grades at one venue would be a major relief. The expansion should also line up with under-18s fixtures.
It will ease pressure on volunteers, canteen staff and trainers. They currently juggle multiple locations.
Talent dilution is a concern, but Hibbs believes junior program growth will supply enough players. The four new clubs have until 2027 to build their lists and junior pathways.
