Kingston Arts Precinct tender deadline extended to December
The Suburban Land Agency pushed the Kingston Quarter tender from 20 October to 1 December.
The Suburban Land Agency extended Kingston Quarter's tender deadline to 1 December, giving developers six weeks more time. The site is 21,000 square metres in central Kingston, near the waterfront.
Plans call for 250 homes, plus a hotel, shops and restaurants. The extension follows recent troubles with other SLA land releases.
Sites in Wright, Belconnen and Whitlam were withdrawn after developers rejected sale terms as too strict. The SLA aims for thorough responses that fit the Kingston Arts Precinct vision.
The project lost momentum in 2021 when the government ended its contract with developer Geocon. Four- to six-storey buildings are planned, with public parking and artist housing in the first stage.
