Four sheep died after intruders allegedly shot and cut them on a Tuggeranong property overnight.
Four sheep died after an alleged cruelty incident on a rural property in Tuggeranong, southern Canberra. Court documents say a woman had eight merino sheep, which she used to train working cattle dogs.
Over the night of 16 to 17 September, intruders allegedly cut a padlock and ransacked the homestead. The intruders allegedly fired a .22 calibre gun at the sheep, killing one and injuring others.
Police put one sheep down, and vets later said two others needed the same. Memphis Auld, 18, has been charged, along with others, with four counts of animal cruelty causing death.
Memphis Auld's bail application was refused on Friday, 9 October, and he was remanded in custody. Police are expected to charge a 27-year-old man too, and a 16-year-old was arrested then released pending investigation.
