Belinda Clark joins Carlton AFLW as leadership consultant
Former women's cricket captain Belinda Clark is advising Carlton Blues on team leadership and strategy.
Belinda Clark built the Australian women's cricket team from a small, underfunded program into a world-beater. Now she's applying that expertise to Carlton AFLW.
The Blues appointed her as a leadership consultant helping coach Mathew Buck shape the team's strategy. Buck says Clark brings just a calm presence and sound advice to the club's leaders, including young captain Abbie McKay and vice-captain Mimi Hill.
Carlton made the finals in 2025 and is back there again in 2026. Clark spent 15 years as an executive at Cricket Australia after captaining the women's team from 1993 to 2005.
She says her role at Carlton is to help develop players and leaders. She's impressed with Buck's choice to hand responsibility to the playing group rather than to control everything.
