Hadean Energy gets $15m to build waste-heat hydrogen plant
CSIRO spinout Hadean Energy wins $15 million grant to build pilot hydrogen plant in Victoria.
Hadean Energy, a startup spun out of CSIRO, won a $15 million grant from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency. The grant will build and run a $30 million pilot green hydrogen plant at Western Port in Victoria.
The plant uses industrial waste heat to make hydrogen. This cuts electricity use by up to a third compared to current methods.
Steel maker BlueScope, nearby, will test the hydrogen. This technology could help Australia produce cleaner hydrogen for energy and industry.
