Sydney Sweeney's second 'Just Sports' ad backs sports trading app Novig
A marketing expert says the brand is 'definitely winning' after gaining new users and raised funding.
Sydney Sweeney, 29, has posted a second 'Just Sports' ad for sports trading app Novig. In the clip she wears white underwear with the app's logo and covers her chest with footballs.
Sweeney jokes that grown men are making spreadsheets to bet on her underwear colour. The first ad drew criticism from female athletes, including Australian Olympian Ariarne Titmus.
Marketing expert Dee Madigan said the brand had found outrage was 'the cheapest media buy in the world'. Madigan said Novig gained new users and raised funding thanks to the ad's reach.
Madigan said there is a big risk that movie studios may not be willing to back Sweeney. Sweeney appeared to answer the backlash by sharing images of athletes.
The athletes include Serena Williams and Ronda Rousey, who posed nude for ESPN Magazine's Body Issue.
