Victoria's work-from-home law is passing parliament after the government made last-minute changes to protect business interests. Employees will have the right to work from home two days a week.
But only if their employer finds it reasonably possible. The law applies only to workers based in Victoria.
Employers must respond within up to 28 days instead of 21. They only pay for basic equipment like laptops and software, not internet or bills.
Businesses with fewer than 15 staff don't start until 1 January 2028. Larger firms begin 1 July 2027.
Employers can pause or cancel arrangements if work from home becomes unreasonable.
