Twin sisters Brothwell face off in AFLW for first time tonight
Twin sisters Mizuki and Nalu Brothwell, drafted to different AFLW teams, play against each other tonight for the first time.
Mizuki and Nalu grew up kicking football around Balnarring, a small Mornington Peninsula town with a population of 2,371. In December they were drafted to the AFLW.
Mizuki went to the Western Bulldogs at pick 14. Nalu went to another club at pick 50.
Balnarring Junior Football Club celebrated with town-wide signs. Tonight they play against each other for the first time.
Mizuki plays as a centre-half-back. Nalu plays as a forward.
The identical twins trained together through their rise. They used each other as a constant partner for drills.
Club president Cam Price said their twin bond gave them an edge. Most junior footballers never had this edge.
