OzCar entered administration, closing four dealerships and costing 90 workers their jobs weeks after a major fine.
Used car dealership chain OzCar has entered administration. Four dealerships in Cardiff, Penrith, Gosford, and Lansvale closed.
Ninety workers lost their jobs. Administrators were appointed on Thursday.
This followed an investigation into the company's sales practices. NSW Fair Trading fined OzCar $50,000.
Three directors each got $11,000 fines. The fines were for pushing customers into contracts, removing consumer protections, and selling poor quality vehicles.
This broke Australian Consumer Law. Japanese shareholder Optimus Group owns 30 per cent of OzCar.
The group said a check of the company's finances led to the administration decision. The group's 12 franchise dealerships across NSW, Queensland, and Victoria stay open.
