Brothers reunite at North Ballarat as Taj joins after Jye's success
Taj Lockett signed with North Ballarat for 2027, joining his older brother Jye.
North Ballarat has signed younger brother Taj, reuniting him with his older brother Jye. Jye joined the Roosters last off-season.
The brothers previously played together within Queensland's AFL framework. Now they will embark on their first shared journey in their home region.
Jye led the club's goalkicking in 2026 and won the medal named after their legendary uncle Tony. Coach Clint Proctor sees both brothers forming a potent force in the forward line.
Taj played 17 games for Broadbeach in his first full senior season, kicking 10 goals mostly from defence. Proctor believes he can play his best footy up forward.
The brothers' understanding of each other could offer the Roosters a point of difference.
