Toby Krasna transforms from draft outsider to likely top-20 AFL pick
Toby Krasna went from being largely overlooked to a certain top-20 draft pick after dominating a single trial match last summer.
Toby Krasna asked for just one trial. The 182cm winger had been left out of development programs, but once given a chance, he dominated completely.
Toby Krasna impressed in a Knights practice match, was selected for round-one Talent League, and never sat out a game. Toby Krasna's Vic Metro trial was equally strong, making him a key player in their carnival-winning side.
Krasna averaged 21.3 disposals, 3.3 tackles and 7 goals from 12 games for the Knights. At higher levels, he maintained his form: 19 disposals and a goal per game for Vic Metro until a hamstring injury ended his carnival early.
His speed and endurance impressed selectors at the Draft Combine, where he finished 7th in the 2km time trial (6.10 minutes) and clocked a 3-second 20m sprint. Previously with Carlton's Next Generation Academy, Krasna is now on the open market after zoning changes.
